Our team is focused on delivering the next generation Survivable Air Operations Center (SAOC) solution to the warfighter. As a SAOC team member, you will oversee delivering the Air Vehicle Capabilities to be installed on a Boeing 747-8i aircraft. The candidate will work on-site out of the Richardson, TX facility as a valued member of the SAOC Program Team which is part of Collins Aerospace’s Mission Systems strategic business unit. You will be responsible for leading the Infrastructure Integrated Product Team as the Program Manager.

What You Will Do

  • Delivers Air Vehicle project(s) on time and on schedule through leadership of cross matrixed teams

  • Leads large and multiple small programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs under his/her responsibility

  • Leads pursuit activities for competitive and sole-sources activities

  • Manages the P&L of program to ensure profitability targets are met

  • Manages key suppliers associated with delivering capability to meet integration commitments

  • Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the program(s) and manages value-stream strategy and progress

  • Monitors strategic planning efforts for large and/or complex programs

  • Demonstrates continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality

  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources, changing contractual specifications, and coordinating responses to customer action items

  • Supports development of new business growth strategies

  • Supports negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operation budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests

  • Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion

  • Manages contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs

  • Establishes cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets

  • Leader that manages several Tier 4 IPTs; ensures delivery within cost and on time

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required ​

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience with large platform integration programs is a must

 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active U.S. government issued Top Secret Security Clearance preferred on Day 1

  • Experience with large platform integration programs

  • Experience with platform interiors and/or power is preferred

  • Substantial project management experience

  • Understanding of project management disciplines and their application

  • Risk management, mitigation and costing methodologies

  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

  • Scheduling with Integrated Master Schedules/GANTT systems

  • Key artifacts to define the project (PMP)

  • Proficiency with Earned Value metrics, their derivation and interpretation

  • Appreciation of customer needs and relationships with ability to lead the customer community

  • Proven track record in delivering against business objectives

  • Experience in the defense industry as a supplier to government customers

  • Fluent with Microsoft Projec
