We are growing our team with the addition of a forward-thinking and versatile cathode process engineer, who is looking for technical challenges and professional growth.Your responsibilities will include supporting the design, development, and characterization of sophisticated cathode materials as well as helping transition research projects into pilot production. This role is inherently hands-on in lab and requires a strong understanding of data analysis and materials science.
Your Role:Optimize cathode and electrolyte materials stable at high voltage, and integrate them into a robust and scalable electrochemical device.Perform materials characterization and failure analyses to understand requirements and physical specifications.Assist in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data to identify trends and draw conclusions related to material performance.Collaborate with chemists, materials scientists, process engineers, and technicians in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.Deliver high-quality technical reports to colleagues and vendors.
Minimum Requirements:A Master's in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with experience in battery research; or, a bachelor's degree in science and engineering and minimum 1-2 years of industry or research experience in energy storage systemsPrior experience in a materials development roleYou understand and follow safe chemical handling and laboratory practices
Highly Desired:Experience in data analysis using JMP or python is a plusExperience with analytical and electrochemical material characterization techniquesExperience in lithium-ion battery research or developmentPassion for making an impact on the world’s energy challenges
Compensation & Benefits:Salary range for this role has a mid-point salary of $119,272 and a salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan.
