Location: Greater Jacksonville, FL, and Southeast Georgia

Summary:

As the Senior Construction Project Manager, you will oversee and manage complex construction projects, ensuring their successful completion within scope, budget, and schedule. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and federal clients to coordinate resources, monitor progress, and resolve issues. Your role is essential in delivering high-quality construction projects that meet federal standards and contribute to the organization's success in the federal construction sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and oversee federal construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, budgets, and schedules.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Resource Coordination: Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues; implement corrective actions to maintain project alignment with goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with project teams, federal clients, and stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with federal quality and safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
  • Documentation: Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and change orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage project finances, including tracking expenses, approving invoices, and monitoring costs to ensure profitability.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering skill development and team cohesion.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize project delivery.

Daily Duties:

  • Review project schedules and coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and construction teams.
  • Update project schedules as needed.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including federal clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities, to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Monitor and track project progress, including materials deliveries, labor hours, and equipment usage.
  • Address on-site issues or conflicts, such as scheduling conflicts, material shortages, or safety hazards.
  • Attend project meetings and provide input on planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Coordinate with project managers, project superintendents, quality control managers, and safety officers to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.

Weekly Duties:

  • Conduct weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and construction teams to review project status and develop action plans.
  • Review and update project schedules, ensuring alignment with overall timelines and milestones.
  • Prepare and distribute progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, issues, and upcoming milestones.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to review material orders, track deliveries, and address any delays or discrepancies.
  • Review project budgets and expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Address staffing needs or performance issues among construction teams.

Monthly Duties:

  • Analyze monthly project financial reports, including budget vs. actual expenditures, and identify variances or trends.
  • Ensure project expenses and billings are accurately reflected and communicate this to senior management.
  • Conduct project quality inspections to assess compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Update project risk registers, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in monthly project review meetings with senior management to discuss project performance and challenges.
  • Evaluate subcontractor performance and address any concerns or deficiencies.
  • Review and approve change orders, requests for information (RFIs), and other project documentation.
