Cloud Developer - Data Scientist

About the role

Tidal Financial Group is seeking a versatile Cloud Developer/Data Scientist to play a role in developing robust software solutions and delivering actionable insights through data analysis. This position requires a strong foundation in software development, data engineering, and advanced analytics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python, SQL, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Snowflake), database management, and creating visualizations with BI tools such as Sigma and Power BI. This role will drive data-driven decision-making and create solutions that optimize business performance.

What you'll do

Cloud Architecture:

· Comprehensive knowledge of AWS (primary focus), with experience in core services like EC2, S3, Lambda, AWS Transfer, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, and more.

· Familiarity with Azure services (secondary focus), including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Machine Learning.

· Experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.

· Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM).

Development and Data Engineering:

o Design and maintain scalable, cloud-based data pipelines and architectures using Snowflake or similar data lake technologies.

o Develop and optimize SQL queries, ensuring efficient database operations and data integrity.

o Build and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to support real-time business insights.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into broader applications.

o Support ETL processes to connect multiple data sources for seamless analysis.

Data Analysis and Insights:

o Conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights to guide business decisions.

o Develop statistical models to evaluate the performance of products, features, and algorithms.

o Manage A/B testing efforts, including hypothesis creation, statistical validation, and reporting of results.

o Provide recommendations based on analysis to business stakeholders and leadership.

Visualization and Reporting:

o Build intuitive and interactive dashboards with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

o Create tailored visualizations that present data in a meaningful and actionable way for stakeholders.

Ownership of Data Assets:

o Oversee database tables, reporting assets, and infrastructure within assigned product verticals.

o Maintain documentation for data assets and ensure consistent data governance practices.

Collaboration and Alignment:

o Partner with Product Managers, Developers, and Designers to evaluate new features and improve user experiences.

o Work across departments to align data analysis efforts with key business goals, focusing on growth and revenue optimization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Expertise:

o Proficiency in Python for both software development and data analysis.

o Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing.

o Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and Snowflake.
