Job Summary
Responsible for general sanitation duties throughout the grocery warehouse, including warehouse offices. Ensures cleanliness of the complex grounds and Company field house.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Carries out general custodial needs for warehouse and office areas.
- Ensures cleanliness of the complex grounds and Company field house.
- Gathers and stacks empty pallets to maintain safe working conditions in the warehouse.
- Gathers cardboard and plastic for bailing and recycling purposes.
- Manually cleans warehouse floors by operating power sweeper/scrubber.
- Picks up and empties warehouse debris containers into dumpster/trash compactor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of warehouse procedures, rules, regulations, workflow, and products.
- Basic knowledge of training and safety procedures regarding power equipment and material handling.
- Ability to use knives/box cutters.
- Ability to operate a fork lift/pallet jack.
- Ability to operate a sweeper/scrubber.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
- Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Six or more months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
- Forklift/pallet jack certification required.

- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
- Continuously required to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
- Continuously required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
- Continuously required to bend, kneel or squat.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 100 lbs.
- Occasionally required to sit for long periods of time.
