About the role

 

 

Responsible for the preparation and processing of hourly payroll and other related accounting functions follows:

  • Manage weekly payroll processing for a union plant.
  • Prepare hourly payroll accrual sheets time and adjustments.
  • Compute payroll and forming department incentive bonus as assigned.
  • Audit payroll after input into Kronos.
  • Code and prepare various additional draft requests remit monies deducted for credit union dues garnishments child support United Way fund etc.
  • Perform such individual assignments as the Senior Finance Manager may direct.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources managers and staff for accurate processing accounting and reporting
  • Provide general administrative support to accounting as needed.
  • Establish and maintain the technical competence knowledge and skills necessary for satisfactory performance of all assigned duties.
  • Comply with Environmental and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs within Department responsibilities.
  • Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of an Associate's degree in accounting or a business related field with 2-5 years of related experience. Must have thorough knowledge of payroll policies and procedures and a working knowledge of Kronos and SAP systems.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of general accounting functions is highly desirable as is prior production and glass container knowledge.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Must be have a working knowledge of computers and be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have good interpersonal analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work well in a team-based environment
