Job Summary

Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) within the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program to coordinate the clinic internship/education process for Doctor of Physical Therapy students and serve as liaison in the process between clinic sites, physical therapy students and the DCE. Manage the day-to-day operations of the internship program and the Exxat platform.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in on going communication with physical therapy clinics to facilitate smooth coordination of all clinic internships, including confirmation of all internship placements and dissemination of all supporting information/materials and clinical specific health and screening documents.
  • Participate in ongoing communication with students regarding the clinic internship placement process, to include the dissemination and compilation of individualized clinic internship lists and information regarding specific clinic requirements, policies, and procedures. Ensure student compliance with multiple clinic sites’ health and orientation requirements. Provide clinic orientation for each cohort.
  • Communicate and coordinate with students compliance with all clinic requirements. Manage the EXXAT platform. Learning and use new software and technologies as needed within the Clinical Education Program.
  • Support the mission and core values of Marymount University and Academic Affairs, including our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Teach in areas of expertise in the DPT program
  • Participate in academic advising and maintain office hours at times that provide appropriate access to students
  • Engage in ongoing professional development that includes scholarship activities

OTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: 1-3 years of project management experience; working in Higher Ed a plus.

Licenses or Certifications: Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in Virginia.

Special Knowledge: Must have experience in use of Microsoft Suite, and in particular, use of Word and Excel.  Comfortable with placing calls and communicating with clinic partners in obtaining new sites or need for additional placements and forming basic on-going relationships. Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, set and keep timelines, and work well as part of a team.
