Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Global Tax Manager
Role: Global Tax Manager
Location: Lysaker, Norway
Employment Type: Full-time
Are you passionate about global tax and transfer pricing? Do you want to be part of a company that operates on a global scale?
Wilhelmsen Ships Service sells maintenance products and services to globally trading vessels in 70+ countries, through 50+ legal entities. The end-users of our products (the vessels) move from one part of the world to another within the span of weeks and expect to get a fully integrated and seamless customer experience wherever they are. This a fundamental aspect of our business, and it requires WSS to operate a truly global (not just multi-national) business model, in which products and tasks are distributed throughout our global marine supply system.
A key success factor with this business model is our ability to competently and proactively manage tax and transfer pricing issues, as there is no shortage of challenges. If you have a true interest in international transfer pricing, we make the claim that there are few companies head-officed in Norway where you will get a broader exposure and possibility to make a significant difference and take real decisions on a field which is a vital component of the company’s competitive advantage.
The ideal candidate is not necessarily a tax lawyer but is someone with practical experience with tax and transfer pricing in an international setting.
What you will be doing:
Ensure overall tax compliance for WSS globally
Drive strategic tax planning, including the use of Double Tax Agreements
Develop and maintain transfer pricing models and global agreements
Address withholding tax issues
Maintain and implement a tax-efficient legal structure
Support WSS subsidiaries in tax audits and claims handling
Develop and maintain internal tax reporting procedures
Provide support on M&A-related tax planning, in collaboration with external advisors
Monitor and evaluate international tax law changes and their business impact
Coordinate with external tax advisors and local finance teams
Work closely with the Wilhelmsen corporate tax team and other stakeholders
Take on ad hoc tax analysis and strategic tasks as needed
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for a hands-on, practical professional—not necessarily a tax lawyer—with a solid understanding of international tax and a keen interest in transfer pricing. This is a role where you can make a real difference and take ownership in a truly global environment.
Master’s degree in Law or Business
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in tax or transfer pricing
Strong knowledge of international tax, especially transfer pricing
Familiarity with OE
