Job Description:

Hours are Monday - Thursday 7pm-5am with a 45 minute unpaid meal break

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operation of light, medium and heavy equipment including forklift.
  • Setup and operate Laser Machine and Press Break in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Read and analyze prints, layouts, or route sheets to determine optimal setup.
  • De-nest completed parts, inspect, and match to prints.
  • Material handling: receive, check-in and stock/put away raw materials.
  • Inventory Maintenance: issue material, cycle count and manage obsolete material.
  • Use suction hoist and lift bridge to insert and remove material.
  • Organize parts for the next process.
  • Handles parts with care to avoid cosmetic and physical damage.
  • Operation of various hand-operated tools related to steel fabrication.
  • Maintains equipment and performs daily inspections of equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains workstation to be used daily in the production process.
  • Regular, timely attendance to meet organizational needs in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Performs special projects or assignments as directed.
  • Must be able to follow all appropriate safety practices.
  • Must be able to comprehend and retain safety programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior forklift and operator experience a plus
  • 1 year of production experience
  • 1 year of experience with plasma tables, laser machines, press breaks or similar equipment
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to use hand tools.
  • Basic mathematics skills and be able to read a measuring tape.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently.  Over 50 pounds, a forklift or crane will be used.  Must be able to push or pull a cart with 80 pounds of force.
  • Basic knowledge in the operation of computer and computer software a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Lighting: natural lighting, supplemental lighting as needed
  • Space: indoor/outdoor work in open environment
  • Temperature: seasonal extremes of hot and cold are encountered
  • Flooring: primarily concrete and gravel; snow, ice or mud may be encountered
  • Noise: continuous noise levels of 80 DB, may be higher on occasion
