JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Business Specialist II Provides a broad array of support services and will perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:
• Performs varied duties in the operation of a financial Management Information System (MIS) (or similar system/s) to produce and disseminate useful. information related to the utilization of resources Identifies/reviews data input source documents for completeness and adequacy for inclusion in various financial reports.
• Monitors data usage in several key categories and consults with activity specialists and managers to resolve reporting problems.
• Performs functional requirements analysis and interface with functional managers to evaluate the needs and impact of proposed financial systems enhancements toward the accomplishment of activity goals and objectives.
• Examines financial system controls and procedures related to the processing of fiscal, cost, property, and other financial data.
• Assists in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating automated accounting system requirements. Manages system operations, resolving unusual or complex problems as they occur.
• Provides information on unusual conditions, procedural irregularities, and major problems, and recommends corrective action.
• Prepares draft findings and develop preliminary recommendations/options for review by senior analysts.
• Uses established techniques to plan and conduct specialized portions of studies to determine the need for financial information; prepares preliminary findings/recommendations and forwards to management for consideration.
Specific job responsibilities to support the MSFC Office of the Chief Financial Officer as a Travel Preparer:
Provide support to the Office of the CFO for consolidated official civil servant travel processing in accordance with the Code Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and Section 9700 of the NASA Procedural Requirements, utilizing the most current NASA travel system. The contractor must have access and authority to utilize a travel booking system in order to view air travel and lodging options currently not available to NASA through the government travel system. This includes but not limited to: receiving worksheets from travelers and/or administrative support personnel; preparation and processing of travel authorizations; booking hotels, airlines and rental cars, itineraries, securing government vehicles to travel destination from the local transportation office, corresponding, and answering questions from travelers. The contractor shall also be responsible for obtaining the required administrative approvals and updating the traveler as to the status of his/her travel arrangements.
Voucher:
- Will complete NASA Pre-Travel Request for Authorization and Travel Voucher Worksheet (NF 1850) for all Travel Authorization and Travel Voucher preparation.
-All NF 1850 for authorizations should be submitted to SSC- Centralized Preparer email inbox 3 weeks in advance, to the extent possible. Forms shall be complete and accurately reflect trip requirements.
- All NF 1850, receipts and other pertinent documentation for vouchers should for be submitted to SSC-Centralized - Preparer email inbox within 3 working days of travel completion, to the extent possible. Forms shall be complete with all receipts scanned and attached.
- The Central Travel Office shall include dedicated support located within the OCFO to enter travel Vouchers into Concur using the NF 1850 and attached receipts. Shall have expertise in Concur and/or significant IT experience/knowledge such that there would be minimal errors and/or vouchers returned for corrections.
BSII additional duties:
- Shall assist in system administration of travel tool used for routing NF1850 data for authorizations and vouchers.
- Shall assist in special activities such as invitational travel.
- Shall give advice to the NASA Team Lead for improvements or solutions to issues that arise.
LOCATION: Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Huntsville, AL
(Onsite, Hybrid, Remote): This position is hybrid remote. Current schedule requires onsite presence at MSFC 3 days a week (TBD) and would be remote 2 days a week (TBD). This is subject to change based on NASA Government Client’s preference.

• Candidates for this position must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• HS Diploma + 8 years or greater of related experience
• Associate Degree + 6 years or greater of related experience
• BA/BS Degree + 0-2 years of related
