Job Duties

To establish and manage a variety of public health communications resources; To create of oversee the creation of public health content, communication tools and messaging; To support public health community engagement and outreach for NSU and the ODU-NSU-EVMS School of Public Health (which is under development).

Core Responsibilities:
1. Management of administrative and operational aspects of communications and community engagement.
2. Production of public health content.
3. Oversight of media production.
4. Staff development, leadership and supervision.
5. Financial and budget management.
6. Establishment of standards, policies and procedures.
7. Development, execution and analysis of communication strategies and plans Management Of stakeholders.
8. Collaboration with other units on and off campus.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A bachelor's degree or higher in communications, media studies, journalism, public health or a related field.
2. At least three (3) years of experience with community engagement.
3. Training in public health.
4. Demonstrated proficiency with communications production.
5. Effective interpersonal and com munication skills.
6. Strong skills in leadership and collaboration.
7. Demonstrated working knowledge of best practices for public relations and/or community engagement.
8. Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with stakeholders and/or community representatives.
9. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and build human and other resources.
10. Mastery of program / project management tools and techniques.

Additional Considerations

1. Experience with developing and launching projects.
2. Familiarity with health equity concepts and programs.
