Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Foundation Models

You will design and implement foundation models and BEV perception models for mass production and city expansion of our autonomous driving system.   You will be working with a team of the best-in-class computer vision, AI systems, and software engineers to ensure the world-leading performance on our autonomous vehicles. Your work will be supported by massive data from our autonomous fleet to deliver the best autonomous driving solution.   Job Responsibilities:

• Research and develop state of the art algorithms for BEV perception models.
• Research and develop foundation models for multiple perception tasks.
• Design efficient architectures and develop implementations that can run in real-time on the computing platform of our autonomous vehicles.
• Develop and integrate software based on recent self-supervised learning techniques and pre-training strategies.
• Optimize the data pipelines for better model training and evaluation.
• Work with massive field-testing data to continuously improve autonomous driving technologies.
• Analyze problems encountered on road and develop end-to-end solutions in collaboration with downstream teams (prediction and planning).

  Minimum Skill Requirements:

• PhD or Master in computer science, electrical engineering, or other related fields.
• Strong experience in applied machine learning including data collection, data analysis, feature engineering and model training.
• 5 + years of experience working with DL frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow.
• 5 + years of R&D experience in autonomous driving, robotics or AI related fields.
• Solid understanding on data structures, algorithms, code optimization and large-scale data processing.
• Proficient in developing efficient algorithms in Python or C++.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

  Preferred Skill Requirements:

• Hands on experience in foundation model or BEV perception model development.
• Experience in applying GNN, RNN, CNN, attention model, or time series analysis to real world problems.
• Experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, Natural Language Processing, or similar technical fields.
• Experience in GPU/CUDA/TensorRT.

  The base salary range for this full-time position is $220,000-$370,000, in addition to bonus, equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
