Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Supply Assistant for Central Services. This position is responsible for delivering and picking up department mail, packages, and freight across the UNR campus. Duties include receiving, sorting, scanning, and redelivering packages, U.S. mail, and freight, as well as processing package and freight returns. The Supply Assistant will also train and organize student employees to ensure accuracy and safety during delivery runs, prepare outgoing shipments and manage returned or damaged packages, complete the associated paperwork, and perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Six or more months of applicable experience as described in the job duties and graduation from high school or equivalent education. 

Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

A valid Class “C” Nevada driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 23

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
