The Director of Clinical Quality Assurance leads the development and oversight of clinical quality assurance and clinical compliance programs across the organization. This role is responsible for building scalable systems that monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of behavioral health services provided by Mindpath Health clinicians. The Director works closely with clinical leaders, compliance teams, and front-line staff to promote evidence-based care, reduce and mitigate risk, and ensure regulatory compliance in a multi-site, multi-payer environment.

This is a fully remote, full-time role (40 hours/week, Monday–Friday).

Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Policy Oversight

  • Design and implement clinical quality assurance systems and procedures to support consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversee regular audits of clinical documentation and workflows to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the clinical policy and procedure platform to ensure accessibility, version control, and alignment with current standards of care.

Clinical Quality Measurement & Improvement

  • Analyze clinical quality metrics and service outcomes to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to develop clinical performance improvement plans and quality initiatives.
  • Lead internal quality review teams and facilitate interdisciplinary quality improvement committees.

Operational Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Support clinical training efforts related to documentation, ethical practice, and quality standards.
  • Oversee incident reporting categorized as clinical, ensuring root cause is identified and , ensuring root cause is identified and corrective action is taken, where applicable; partner with Legal and Compliance to mitigate issues.
  • Coordinate readiness for external audits, payer reviews, and accreditation surveys.
  • Review and respond to patient service complaints where clinical operations is identified as issue; collaborate with RCM team to ensure timely and appropriate resolution where issue is related to billing or collections.

Staff Development & Support

  • Provide day-to-day coaching, guidance, and feedback to team members to support performance and growth.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, team meetings, and performance conversations to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Identify individual development needs and coordinate training or mentoring opportunities in partnership with HR.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive team culture that encourages open communication and collaboration.
  • Address performance issues promptly and constructively, aligning with HR policies and company values.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team providing oversight of key initiatives and ensuring operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health or healthcare-related field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Public Health).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in behavioral health, including at least 3 years in quality assurance, compliance, or clinical operations.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation standards, quality frameworks, and behavioral health regulations.
  • Experience using EHR systems and interpreting clinical and operational data.
  • Ability to develop policies, conduct trainings, and manage quality projects across diverse clinical settings.
  • Experience with multiple payer types, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance.
  • Experience in multi-site or multi-state behavioral health organizations.
  • Certification in Healthcare Quality (e.g., CPHQ) or similar credential.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
The pay range for this position is $108,000 to $130,000 per year. We offer full benefits (medical, dental, vision), paid time off, holiday pay, 401k, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, and more.
