Job Description
- Run standard analytical tools such as powder flow, bulk density, moisture content determination, viscosity, pH measurement, hardness testing, particle size determination, etc.
- Conduct and/or coordinate laboratory experiments to generate analytical results. Collect and analyze technical data, generate reports including conclusions and recommendations where needed
As needed:
- Participate in onsite technical assessments at manufacturing sites and support demonstration/qualification/pilot batches at manufacturing sites
- Perform general laboratory unit operations such as weighing, mixing/blending, roll compaction, granulation, milling, compressing, etc.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate would possess:
Ability to troubleshoot analytical equipment and develop procedures
Familiarity with commercial scale equipment and processes. This includes:
- Blending (Ribbon Mixer, Paddle Blender, Bin Blender; etc.), granulation (high sheer and roller compaction), drying (fluid bed and spray), material transfer, and other processes
- Demonstration of strong skills in manufacturing formulation processing, development and optimization. Ability to troubleshoot process problems (powder flowability, blend uniformity, segregation, degradation) for granulated and blended products.
- HPLC and MS industry experience would be desired.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, laboratory sciences or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
