We are urgently hiring a Lead Line Operator (Lead Extrusion Technician) in our Elyria, Ohio Facility on Garden Street.
STARTING PAY: $29.00/HR
Position Overview:
Schedule: B Shift 6:45pm-7am; 2-2-3 rotation
Location: 860 Garden St, Elyria, OH 44035
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
The Lead Line Operator is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in monitoring the production processes, equipment, and personnel to ensure maximum safety, efficiency, and quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate standards for process times, settings, and specifications to ensure optimal output and quality.
- Track performance results and provide feedback to staff and the Extrusion Supervisor
- Perform routine checks of equipment, materials, and product; take or recommend action as needed
- Monitor extruder operating parameters
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment through 5S audits and adherence to safety policies
- Support production troubleshooting and resolve processing issues
- Assist with production work, including operating lines as needed
- Train operators on equipment, procedures, and adjustments
- Support selection of production auxiliary equipment
- Participate in plant activities, including training, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Additional duties as required
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 year of equipment/machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; Bi-lingual a Plus!
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
OCCUPATIONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours on a shift.
- Occasional climbing, reaching, squatting, and bending to operate and fix equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry, push/pull up to 50lbs multiple times per shift with or without reasonable assistance
- Ability to use hand tools: electric saw, air nail gun, hammer, banding equipment, crow bar
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Non-Climate Controlled Facility
- Work in an environment that may be exposed to external elements (hot and cold temperatures) and occasional loud noises.
- Capable of wearing required PPE (eyes, ears, feet, etc.) for entire shift.
