Security Officer – Unarmed (Overnight / Third Shift)

Location: Reading, PA
Pay: $16.25 per hour
Additional Compensation: Available for qualified military veterans

About the PositionKRE Security, LLC is seeking dependable Unarmed Security Officers for a permanent overnight assignment in Reading, PA. This position is well suited for individuals with prior security, military, or law enforcement experience who value consistency, professionalism, and a stable schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional security presence
• Conduct routine and mobile patrols
• Monitor access points, alarms, and site conditions
• Respond to incidents, safety concerns, and emergencies
• Complete incident and daily activity reports using Belfry software
• Enforce post orders, site policies, and standard operating procedures
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and fellow officers

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years
• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience strongly preferred
• Experience with patrol operations, access control, and incident reporting preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Must pass a mandatory background check
• Required in-person orientation prior to assignment

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly rate: $16.25 per hour (site-specific)
• Additional $0.25 per hour for qualified military veterans and active-duty service members
• Overtime paid in accordance with applicable labor laws for hours worked over 40 per week
• Full-time eligibility at 30+ hours per week
• Paid Time Off: 24 hours accrued after successful completion of the probationary period
