Senior Director, High Net Worth Investment Strategist

About the role

In this role, you will lead the Advanced Wealth Planning Investment Strategist team by providing strategic leadership in support of our high net-worth investment mission, leading across the organization to key partners. You will support the team by connecting enterprise resources to support high-net-worth clients and the advisors that serve them and act as a key thought leader and promoter of support available to corporate and field audiences. Additionally, you will consult with advisors, assessing their high-net-worth client / prospect case, developing investment planning proposals, case consultation, and investment planning deliverables, while partnering with the Advanced Wealth Planning Strategist team. This includes professional facilitation when working directly with advisors and their clients in presenting advanced wealth investment planning strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide thought leadership, input and strategic direction on high-net-worth investment planning programs
  • Influence across organization (including RVS, Bank, WMS, & Marketing) to ensure close partnership on high-net-worth initiatives
  • Develop and communicate the strategy for Advanced Wealth Planning Investment Strategists, both internally (cross-organizationally) and to field audiences
  • Demonstrate an advanced knowledge of complex investment planning concepts
  • Build partnerships with internal corporate and field leaders, including Wealth Management Solutions sales teams, RiverSource Life Insurance and Annuities, Ameriprise Bank, to ensure coordinated engagement on Advanced Wealth Planning investment cases, issues, & strategic efforts
  • Promote Advanced Wealth Planning Investment Strategist team to advisors, to develop opportunity pipeline and communicate expertise of team

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' financial services experience working with the high-net-worth market segment
  • 7+ years of leadership experience demonstrating progressively larger scope of accountability
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Active FINRA Series 7, 66 (63 & 65), 24

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently, work in a fast-paced environment and ability to react quickly to change
  • Ability to analyze and communicate strategic ideas, get buy-in, and effectively implement
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases
  • Experience working with field leaders, advisors and clients
  • Experience with financial planning and investment strategies
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $157,400 - $212,600 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
