A Day in the Life

The Robotic Surgical Technologies Business Unit set the standard for Robotically Assisted Surgery (RAS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on surgical procedures of diseases and conditions.At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. You Will:
Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, to support customer success analytics.
Develop and optimize Power BI semantic models and Snowflake objects to extract and analyze data from various sources.
Collaborate with an array of individuals and teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
Build and maintain reusable data models and semantic layers to enable self-service analytics.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency by adhering to the Data & Analytics team governance standards, performing approach reviews prior to developing, performing peer reviews of work, data validation, and QA on BI deliverables including insights.
Develop and support metric build and deployment.
Stay current on healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA) and ensure BI solutions comply with data privacy and security requirements.
Stay current on evolving healthcare technology, including all things AI, and contribute to the implementation of innovative tools and methodologies.
Participate in ongoing performance tuning, system upgrades, and data governance initiatives.
Must Have:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, or related field and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
Or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have:
5+ years of experience in BI development or data analysis, preferably in a healthcare or healthcare technology setting.
Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift).
Firsthand experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics or data manipulation.
Experience working in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
