The Senior Associate, State Tax will be responsible for State income/franchise tax reporting and compliance procedures.
The Senior Associate, State Tax will support the tax department by assisting in the preparation of Federal and State corporate income tax returns, quarterly state estimates and other tax department support services.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare State income / franchise tax return filings including quarterly estimated payments and extensions.
  • Prepare check or wire payment requests for tax payments.
  • Prepare and review State tax provision calculation for quarterly and year end financials (ASC 740).
  • Prepare state apportionment for various standalone subsidiaries and unitary apportionment.
  • Communicate with various accounting personnel to gather information.
  • Respond to and resolve tax notices and communicate with taxing jurisdictions, as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of law changes relevant to D&B on a quarterly basis (tax rate changes and other rule changes).
  • Assist in the preparation of the US Federal consolidated return.
  • Work with tax department team members on various projects such as Country by Country Reporting (Form 8975), Residency Certificates (Form 8802), State income tax audits.
  • Analyze and maintain tax accounts, balances and related reconciliations.
  • Implement improvement processes when deemed appropriate.

Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of State income / franchise tax return filings professional experience.
  • Corptax experience preferred.
  • Workday accounting software experience preferred.
  • Collaborator with effective communication (both written & verbal) and presentation skills to interface with accounting, treasury, and tax team members.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills, detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrate capability and willingness to bring issues to a conclusion.
  • Ability to manage confidential company data with discretion, following the D&B policies.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree - Required
  • Masters Degree - Preferred
