YOU WILL BE:

As a Sr. Specialist of External Investigations, you will play a critical role in protecting our stores, employees, and customers by investigating major external theft incidents, ORC activity, and supporting field Asset Protection operations. This position is highly store-driven and will serve as a front-line responder to incidents such as robberies, burglaries, grab-and-run thefts, and Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity across designated U.S. retail locations.

You will work closely with store Asset Protection teams, Asset Protection partners, and law enforcement to collect evidence, conduct field investigations, and assist in resolving high-impact theft cases. Your ability to build relationships, identify patterns, and take proactive action will be essential in reducing external loss and enhancing overall store safety.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Act as a primary field responder to major theft incidents across assigned stores.

• Support stores in securing evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and capturing witness statements.

• Coordinate with law enforcement to ensure timely and effective case handling.

• Conduct in-depth investigations into external theft cases, including ORC activity.

• Maintain accurate case documentation and collaborate with the Manager of External Investigations on investigative strategy.

• Support efforts to bring cases to prosecution and track legal outcomes.

• Serve as a resource for store teams and field Asset Protection personnel on best practices for evidence collection and incident reporting

• Help educate store teams on external theft awareness, prevention techniques, and escalation protocols.

• Identify theft patterns, suspect behaviors, and criminal trends impacting store operations.

• Build strong collaboration with retail partners and regional law enforcement networks.

• Assist in the identification and disruption of ORC groups targeting stores.

• Ensure all investigative activities are thoroughly documented in case management systems.

• Support reporting efforts related to theft trends, case outcomes, and law enforcement engagement.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• College degree preferred.

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in investigations, retail Asset Protection, or law enforcement.

• Strong investigative skills, including experience with ORC and external theft cases.

• Established network within law enforcement and retail security communities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to write clear, concise reports.

• Comfortable analyzing data to identify trends and develop investigative strategies.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience with case management systems and investigative tools preferred.
