The Role:
Yubico is looking for a Senior Standards Architect to contribute to our influence in the development of standards that are integral to our products. This role will be directly responsible for integrating with the technical working groups at the FIDO Alliance, W3C, and other standards bodies. Yubico leverages the standards created by these groups as the primary way for integrate YubiKeys into authentication solutions at scale.
You should be a detail-oriented person who can see the big picture of the unintended consequences of decisions today. You should not only be an experienced engineer in Identity solutions but also understand the relationships in the industry that drive these solutions forward. We are looking for the proactive people who can help execute on a strategy and provide thoughtful and detailed feedback when presenting new options to leadership.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Understand, enhance, maintain, and grow the Yubico’s influence in the development of new standards
- Participate in events throughout the year and across the globe for the purpose of driving forward these standards.
- Develop and maintain an internal briefing on the evolution of technology as it pertains to Yubico’s business interests
- Establish a leadership role in the different working groups at the standards bodies that Yubico is engaged with
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience (or equivalent) deploying identity management solutions
- Proven experience building and supporting commercial server software on one of the 3 major cloud platforms
- Advanced knowledge of cloud services
- Excellent communication skills
Bonus Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with CTAP, WebAuthn, OpenID, and SCIM protocols
- Experience with digital wallets, distributed identity, and national identity schemes
- Experience deploying authentication solutions for these areas: enterprise, consumer, or government to citizen services
- Great at systems-level thinking: edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, specific implementations
- Web security experience
