Financial Specialist I - Summer Trainee

Overview
The Agency of Transportation Finance Bureau is seeking a summer trainee to learn and complete financial operation tasks, including, but not limited to, financial transactions, disbursements, receipts, expenditures and fund transfer requests. Additionally, this staff will assist in preparing and maintaining accounting systems, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial support services.
It is anticipated that this position will work 40 hours per week, with flexible start and end dates. intern, internship, college, summer job, paid internship
Who May Apply
This position, Financial Specialist I (#49465), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office setting.
Minimum Qualifications
One year or more of full-time college coursework in accounting, business administration or a related field.
OR
Completion of a vocational/technical training program in business, office administration, financial support or related area.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or clerical work involving accounting or financial records.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Technician with the State of Vermont.
Special Requirements
