The Transplant QAPI Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of transplant care provided at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as well as ensuring regulatory compliance with UNOS, OPTN, CMS, and Joint Commission standards. This position is responsible for assisting with regulatory policy administration and development, chart auditing and assurance of compliance with regulatory policies and guidelines, supporting the Quality and Performance Improvement programs for the kidney, liver, pancreas, heart, lung transplant and MCS programs, and preparation for regulatory surveys.Job Description
- Monitors and manages internal regulatory audits and perform chart audits to ensure compliance with regulatory policies and standards
- Monitors for changes to UNOS, OPTN, CMS, and JC regulations
- Ensures accuracy, completeness and timeliness of reporting to the OPTN
- Promotes best-practice standards and coordinates and implements quality initiatives
- Assists with preparation for all regulatory surveys and developing action plans resulting from any site survey
- Supports the Quality and Performance Improvement programs for our kidney, liver, pancreas, heart, lung and MCS programs
- Assists with the Root Cause Analyses (RCA) for the kidney, liver, pancreas, heart, lung and MCS programs
- Serves as the Patient Safety contact for UNOS
- Responsible for TIEDI reporting in UNet
- Serves as the OnPoint and Joint Commission Liaison
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s in Nursing Req
- R.N. Licensure requiredired
- 2-5 years of healthcare quality or clinical documentation work experience
- Strong presentation and full proficiency with Microsoft suite products
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Healthcare quality or clinical documentation knowledge
