We are actively seeking a Senior Engineer to join our LLCM team. In this role, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining innovative mapping and calibration solutions. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing and testing algorithms and systems that power our AV, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. We seek passionate, highly skilled individuals who can work across our cloud and AV stack to deliver rich solutions that ensure our vehicles can accurately locate themselves, understand their surroundings, and navigate safely.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
Design and develop complex, highly scalable, and latency-optimized software in C++
Invent, extend, design and develop next-generation features for self-driving car applications
Design and implement backend applications and pipelines that can generate and validate map features, deploy maps to the AV and manage map changes in the real-world.
Develop and support software stacks that perform the calibration and monitoring of the visual and range sensors on autonomous vehicles, and drive the automation of the testing framework.
Improve and deliver reliable software through continuous integration, automated testing and code reviews
Work closely with vehicle engineering to enable real-time vehicle communication and feedback
Develop APIs for client services and vehicle communication
Communicate across functions and groups including Product, Design, and end users.
Be a role model and mentor for others in technical matters
Skills/Qualifications (must-have)
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer writing production quality code in C++
Experience building microservice-based backend systems with SQL or NoSQL databases
BS, MS or PhD in CS, Math, Physics, or equivalent real-world experience
Experience on development and testing of numerical linear algebra, and optimization software
Experience with Geometric Computer Vision, and Image Processing algorithms and software
Experience fixing, diagnosing, testing and resolving issues in production environments
Strong organizational and communication skills
Skills/Qualifications (nice-to-have/bonus)
Experience in the AV industry, particularly in Mapping & Localization, and/or Calibration
Experience in complex AV SW stack testing and release automation
Experience with Linux
Experience with ROS
Experience with Python
Experience with OpenCV, and Eigen
Experience using Node.js or using typescript or javascript
Experience with with queuing and event streaming solutions such as GCP pub/sub or similar
Experience with kubernetes, docker or packaging applications for cloud deployment.
The salary range for this position is $178,500 - $210,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
