This position is funded for 12 months; continuation past 12 months will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
This is a/an 75 % full-time equivalency (FTE) job. This position will work 30 hours per week. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The Entrepreneurship & Innovation (E&I) Program is seeking a motivated Technical Commercialization Specialist to serve as a facilitator and enabler of innovators’ efforts to enhance the commercializable technology portfolio of this active multidisciplinary initiative. The successful candidate will work closely with the College of Agricultural Sciences E&I program, the World Food Forum’s North American Youth Food Lab @ Penn State, and the co-directors of the pending HARVEST Industry Consortium to provide high-level technology development support and partnership management. This position proactively interfaces and maintains collaborative relationships with individuals at multiple levels of the organization, including interactions within Penn State institutes, centers, and colleges as well as external stakeholders in industry, other academic institutions, and other related networks.
Responsibilities include:
Providing project management support for technology development teams both internal and external to the university (external teams coming through the Youth Food Lab).
Independent planning, initiating, organizing, and advancing technology development-related activities under these initiatives.
Serving as a referral resource for innovators.
Managing internal and external communications on behalf of the initiatives.
Planning and administering project budgets, serving as liaison with college financial offices.
Facilitating meetings and activities that support the advancement of the initiatives. Must maintain confidential and sensitive information.
