Full-Stack Software Engineer

Individuals in the Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer role will use NodeJS, TypeScript, and React to create and extend applications and services that support business function, data analytics, customer projects, and security initiatives.

 

The preferred location for this position is Herndon, VA. This position will be a hyrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days working from home.

 

Responsibilities:

As part of Wärtsilä's ES&O GEMS software product team you will be responsible for contributing to our backend servers, UI, and deployment infrastructure.

 

• Participate in an agile development environment.

• Develop with security as a driving principle.

• Participate in user experience and usability studies to develop and/or improve the UI design and make complex site operations intuitive.

• Lead, design, and develop software initiatives.

• Develop feature and other technical documents.

• Participate in customer facing discussions, meetings, and project delivery.

• Daily use of TypeScript, React, and NodeJs

 

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of ECMAScript/JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Excellent understanding of and experience with OAuth/OIDC.

• Comprehensive experience profiling and debugging software.

• Robust understanding and expertise of cryptography.

• General networking and infrastructure experience.

• Advanced proficiency in the utilization of Docker.
• Knowledge of various software design patterns.

• Proficiency in communicating both verbally and in written documentation the designs and functionalities of software.
