Job Title: Waste Water Operator

Department:  Maintenance

Job Description: 

Associate will perform a variety of technical maintenance work in the operation, upkeep and repair of the wastewater treatment facility.  Operates, maintains and repairs malfunctions at the wastewater facility; repairs gauges, pumps, filters and other controls and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance and collects samples; identifying concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of wastewater in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.  Some off-shift work may be scheduled on weekends.  Other duties within the Maintenance Department as assigned inclusive of facility improvements, installation of equipment and providing back-up to other Maintenance staff.

Requirements:

Must obtain and maintain a Wastewater Operator Certification for at least a Level I facility. The ability to use hand tools and tools of the trade will be required as well as; a strong mechanical background, the ability to identify industry standard parts and basic electrical experience. The physical ability to lift 40-50 lbs. unassisted, stand throughout the majority of the shift and work in tight confines is required.  Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience in Wastewater Utility. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, possess good written & verbal skills and have aptitude to perform control calculations.  Attention to detail-oriented work as well as the ability to work as a team member is recommended. 

External Requirement: 6-month production experience listed on the application (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).

Rehire Consideration:

• Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered for hire.
• 90 days (3 months) waiting period.
