What You'll Do
The Director of Cloud Strategy will be a pivotal leader in driving the company’s technological vision and strategic direction related to cloud infrastructure and services. This role demands a visionary leader with deep technical expertise and a strong grasp of emerging cloud technologies and how they solve customers’ business needs. The Director of Cloud Strategy will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud strategies are aligned with business objectives, delivering innovative, scalable, and secure solutions that propel CompuNet’s relevance and value to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Strategy Development: Lead the development, enablement, alignment and execution of the company’s cloud architecture strategy, ensuring it aligns market dynamics and technological advancements.
- Solution Design: Architect and design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions that meet business requirements and drive competitive advantage.
- Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and lead teams of cloud architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Customer Facing: Proficiency in working with existing and prospective customers in understanding their business needs and working to create rapport and trust.
- Staffing: Work to establish and maintain appropriate staffing levels to ensure customer satisfaction and investments into areas of relevancy.
- Analysis/Reporting: Understand and correlate customer and market needs to optimize profitability through optimizing utilization and development of required skillsets.
- Collaboration: Partner with senior leadership, cross functional Architects, Strategic Consulting, Directors of Strategic Partnerships, Market Leadership, Sales, Engineering, across all domains to develop and implement cutting-edge cloud solutions, to drive customer interaction.
- Vendor Management: Strategically evaluate and manage relationships with cloud service providers and third-party vendors to maximize relevance, value and performance.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to industry standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements, managing risk effectively.
- Cost Management: Strategically optimize cloud expenditures while ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
- Innovation: Continuously monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating innovative solutions into the company’s cloud strategy to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in cloud architecture and strategy roles.
- Proven experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading high-performance teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, security, and services.
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
- Experience with integrating and managing vendor relationships
- Success and experience with customer facing campaigns driving value and relationships.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
- Experience with advanced cloud and application architectures.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Understanding of data management and analytics in a cloud environment.
