Director Global Customs

YOUR MISSION

• Lead, manage and develop the Global Customs team
• Functional lead of the regional and local customs teams
• Provide global governance related to all customs matters, e.g. FTA’s, Classification, Customs valuation or Rules of origin
• Support the import countries with regards to FTA review and optimization, Customs Audits or HS Classification
• Provide customs related tools and reporting to the import countries (e.g. HS classification tool)
• Provide an overview and reporting especially on FTA’s and their usage, Customs duties, Import values, HS Classification rules or other customs related KPI’s
• Provide framework for dealing with customs brokers
• Give input to regular Board Updates
• Drive global Customs projects
• Ensure customs valuation is in line with Puma’s global valuation approach
• Ensure alignment across all related functions within Puma (global and local)
• Act as an internal subject matter expert on a global level
• Provide input to all concerned stakeholders to ensure optimization of landed costs of goods
• Ensure PUMA is compliant with current regulations
• Educate PUMA relevant organizations on customs matters
• Represent PUMA towards industry federations.

YOUR TALENT

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Customs
• A minimum of 5 years leadership experience
• Experience in HS (tariff) classification, customs valuation, and country of origin determination
• Very good knowledge of import/ customs regulations, Free Trade Agreements, Rules of Origin, Import Duties, International Regulations
• Experience in working in a matrix organization in an international environment
• Critical thinking and excellent problem solving and analysis skills
• Ability to handle confidential information frequently and appropriately
• Capable of working independently
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English; any additional language is a plus
• Apparel & footwear industry experience is a plus.
