Junior Paint Technician

Painting--Want to Learn? The Analytical Solutions Division (ASD) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., is seeking a Junior Paint Technician who has an aptitude toward mechanical assembly and desire to paint. This position will be part of a team located in Huntsville, AL. A Junior Paint Tech will receive the required on-the-job paint training and to safely utilize tools and hardware using standard paint manufacturing shop practices. Must be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required. Must be able familiar with technical manuals - including blueprints and schematics.
What you’ll do as a Junior Paint Technician (may not be all inclusive):
- Light mechanical assembly work
- Perform multiple manufacturing tasks associated paint application
- Paint application tasks including paint mixing, spray operations, thickness measurements, etc.
- Gain a full understanding of multiple coatings application equipment
- Assist in fabrication and other assembly/disassembly processes
- Requires constant pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, climbing and stooping in addition, will be lifting up to 50lbs
- Must be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required
Junior Paint Technician Requirements:
- Must have 1-2 years of understanding in mechanical assembly systems
- Under direct supervision, capable of quickly learning paint applications
- Knowledge of utilizing hand tools, power tools and measurement tools
- Must have familiarity with mechanical systems and safe work practices
- Safely utilize tools and hardware using standard fabrication shop practices
- Familiarity with technical manuals - including blueprints, schematics and or sketches
- The ability to function as an integral part of a team
- Requires constant pushing, pulling, standing, reaching, grasping, bending, climbing and stooping in additions will be lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of Defense
Preferred/Great to Have:
- Active / Current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of Defense
- 1-2yrs of Paint application, spray operations, coatings, paint mixing, etc.
