Job Summary

The Associate Chief Financial Officer ("ACFO"), is a key senior leader in the organization In partnership with the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, provides the needed data to help in the identification and evaluation of new or expanded service and product lines in alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the ACFO is charged with overseeing the development, analysis, reporting of system-wide business and operational information to support decision making. Responsible for consistent system-wide business planning and analysis. In partnership with Operations monitors, understands, and assesses service line performance by key performance indicators (volume, outcomes, market share, financial metrics, etc.). The ACFO interacts with a wide variety of staff in the organization including direct and indirect reports, peers, Executives and Board committees. The Associate Chief Financial Officer ("ACFO"), works under minimal supervision, key senior leadership position in the organization.

Essential Functions:
  • In partnership with the Chief Strategy Officer, provides the needed data to help in the identification and evaluation of new or expanded service and product lines in alignment with organizational mission, vision, and values. (15%)
  • Oversee the development, analysis, reporting of system-wide business and operational information to support decision making. Responsible for consistent system-wide business planning and analysis. (15%)
  • In partnership with Operations monitors, understands, and assesses service line performance by key performance indicators (volume, outcomes, market share, financial metrics, etc.). (15%)
  • Acts as a resource for negotiations and evaluations of all major transactions including new facilities, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures/transitions, joint ventures, and other new ventures and partnership development opportunities. (15%)
  • Incorporates financial analysis into business plans and maintains quantitative discipline throughout the planning process. Collaborates with clinical quality, strategy, operations, marketing, finance, and other internal customers to define data and other business analytics needed for market/product/service line development and evaluation. (15%)
  • Leads the management of both internal and external data and the development of analytical models and forecasts to support planning activities and short- and long-range planning and budgeting cycles. (15%)
  • Manage day-to-day workflow in the business development department to include the selection, training and evaluation of staff. (10%)

Education:
  • Master's Degree in business, public health, health administration, or related discipline Required

Work Experience:
  • 10+ years Minimum ten (10) years of health care planning, strategy, business analytics experience Required

Licenses:

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Experience developing complex business plans and using data to drive strategy.
    • Understands all operational components necessary to implement a new or expand a current service line, including but not limited to capital, equipment, people, education, quality metrics and costs.
    • Extensive experience in working with senior administration and physicians with respect to
    • business analytics and program planning.
    • The ability to work with confidential and sensitive information daily.
    • Good interpersonal, organization, supervisory, and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and exercise decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read, write, develop plans and procedures, and coordinate people and other resources to accomplish goals.
    • Independent judgement and initiative for problem – solving and resolution of issues.
    • Exemplary customer service skills and a collaborative working style.
    • Maintains current knowledge of laws and regulations through personal research, seminars, peer contact, and benchmarking.
