Visual Merchandiser

MISSION & SCOPE:

-Developing and communicating merchandising strategy and communication tools that empower and inspire store managers to merchandise stores for the local consumer that drive comp sales and increase margin.

 

Salary range: $50,000-$52,000 annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Developing new and improved visual merchandising guidelines for the local consumer
-Working with customer facing teams to translate the product and trend direction visually
-Working with the store team to collect and share ideas
-Traveling to stores to execute merch plans and take photos to share with entire company
-Traveling with Buyers/Store team to look for regional merch as well as training opportunities

WORKING PARTNERSHIPS:

-Must establish and maintain strong working relationships across the organization with executives, peers, subordinates, internal and external customers, and applicable third party providers.
-Working with the customer facing teams to come up with creative merchandising options, around seasonal product assortments that empower stores to merch and sell product to their consumer.
-Working with the store team to build relationships, collect and share ideas, as well as training to improve execution and in-store experience for the local consumer.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
-Min. of 5 years retail experience
-Visual Merch experience preferred

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
-Must have a car to drive to local stores
-Work in a fast pace environment
-Self Starter

Qualifications

POSITION PURPOSE

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for taking the product direction and translating that to clear merchandising direction and building tools for the stores to use when merchandising their stores.

 

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Give weekly merchandising direction to stores

• Build seasonal floor plan packets
• Provide merchandising support in store as needed

• Manage a capital budget for fixture improvements

• Build merchandising tools for stores

• Manage weekly calendar

• Review sign package content

• Send out promo updates

• Build new store floor plan and give recommendation for fixture buy

• Merch project manager for Catalog

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 Years merchandising experience

• Fashion merchandising degree or work equivalent

• Mastery of Excel, and  Powerpoint

• Understanding of Zumiez customer, Brands and trend

• Can take small directions and translate them to a workable plan

• The ability to communicate and motivate

• Willingness to take on new challenges

• Well versed in Zumiez WWH

• Occasionally setting up displays for packet examples

• Driving to local stores to set up displays
