Director Production Planning

Neogen is looking to hire a Director of Production Planning who will be responsible for ensuring the timely manufacture and management of all Neogen products through securing raw materials, scheduling of sub-assemblies, outside processing services and finished goods.

This position manages the overall inventory of raw materials, supplier performance management, and assists with supplier audits and/or CAPAs.  The position is responsible for maintaining correct levels of safety stocks on raw materials to minimize down times of the production lines, reviews ordering patterns to improve touch points for the associated departments and continues to evaluate processes to improve efficiencies.  The position will be accountable for the creation of process work orders, scrap forms, and appropriate non-conforming material forms. 

This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United States. However, candidates must be willing to travel up to 40% for in-person meetings and team events, both domestically and internationally

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct all procurement activities related to inventoried raw materials and develop robust cost reduction programs for such raw materials

• Inventory integrity, inventory turns, reduction and control of obsolete/unproductive inventory

• Assists in external supplier audits

• Analyze MRP reports to determine accuracy, completeness and required action

• Facilitate weekly production update meetings

• Manage all Production Planners and perform annual assessments

• Interface with Operations Purchasing for procurement of raw materials to support manufacturing requirements

• Administers corporate policies and insures adherence to by staff

• Prepare and present reports and analysis of data as required

• Interface with other NEOGEN division on collaboration with direct material purchases, supplier purchasing, material planning and order fulfillment

• Develop strategic plans for supplier development, cost containment, and geographic purchasing

• Other duties as may be assigned by Management

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in related field

• OR 5+ years of experience in related field

• Must be able to travel up to 40% both domestic and international
