POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment and uses independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures using practical safety measures to specific work situations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Repairs on equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and technical background. Troubleshooting components such as motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, PLC’s, drives, sensors, cylinders. Doing repairs using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
2. Inspects equipment for proper function and be able to troubleshoot based on the irregular sounds and movement of the machines.
3. Be able to rebuild components such as but not limited to cylinders, rollers, electrical components.
4. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
5. Installs special functional or structural parts such as guards as a safety mechanism.
6. Start, test, lubricate equipment or devices to test and maximize their performance.
7. Be able to set up and operate the drill press, lathe, milling machine, grinder, and other metal working tools to make or repair parts.
8. Perform PM on machines according to the SOP.
9. Adhere to the 5-S standards on the floor and in the maintenance shop.
10. Safely perform duties in a responsible manner in accordance with company policy including maintaining general work area cleanliness.
11. Can close work orders and complete paperwork on computer.
12. Must have own tools and toolbox.

Requirements
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions along with basic math skills. Use commons tools, measuring instruments, read electronic and mechanical gauges, and machine setup devices. Must be able to solve electrical and mechanical issues on machines. Must be able to troubleshoot PLC related problems.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Four years of experience assisting skilled trades workers in the mechanical and electrical trades, including four years equivalent to a Maintenance Mechanic. Completion of a recognized program in vocational training for the mechanical and electrical trades may be substituted for one years of experience assisting skilled trades workers.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Four years of experience in building maintenance to include at least two of the following building trades: electrical, plumbing, and/or heating, ventilation, & air conditioning; or an equivalent combination of education and certifications.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Knowledge of use and care of tools used in and carpentry trades including voltage meters,
