Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Microbiology Lab Intern located in our Buffalo Grove, IL site.

Reporting to the Quality Compliance Manager, the student will assist with daily laboratory tasks while learning, collaborating and working with the various teams.

What a typical day looks like:

• Perform environmental monitoring in clean room environment
• Assist with cell culture preparations
• Routinely identify organisms related to the sterilization process
• Collaborate with team on rapid identification of micro-organisms
• Support maintenance of instruments
• Attend team meetings and support project work as needed

Student qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:

• Junior/Senior level student pursuing Bachelors’ degree in Biology
• Enthusiastic about working in a lab environment
• General laboratory experience
• Familiarity with lab tools: pipettes, agar plates, lab refrigerators, incubators
• MS Office skills; Excel and PowerPoint advanced skills; a plus!
• Ability to put together presentations and present data
• Highly collaborative, analytical and excellent communication skills
• Previous internship with lab experience preferred, but not required

Internship Program Requirements:

• Available to start on June 2nd and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
• Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
• 3.0 minimum GPA

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois)

$15.93 USD - $21.90 USD Hourly
