Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Behavioral Health

Where You Will Work:

Pediatric Behavioral Health (16 Beds)

Pediatric Behavioral Health is a 16 bed child/adolescent unit. Average daily census is 14. Our unit collaborates with providers, nursing teammates, recreational therapy, music therapy, social work, chaplaincy, and several other child-friendly volunteer groups. Our average length of stay is 5-7 days. We currently utilize the CPI de-escalation program. We were recently voted twice as a unit to "likely recommend for care" by patients and families. 

We’re Looking For:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • At least one year RN experience

What You’ll Do:

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, located in Winston-Salem, NC, is a key part of our nationally recognized academic health system. Our 885-bed tertiary care hospital houses the region’s only children’s hospital, burn center, and Level I adult and pediatric trauma centers. The campus is also home to a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and to clinical centers of excellence in multiple specialties including cardiovascular, brain health and neurology, sports medicine and orthopedics, transplantation and nephrology.
