Job Title: Speech Therapist

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, PRN

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday & Monthly Weekend Rotation

Wage Rate: $45 - $52 per hour, depending on experience

General Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide rehabilitation care to clients as requested by the client and, when required, as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and the policies of the community. 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides or makes provision for client care in compliance with the ASHA, physicians’ orders, and Clinical Pathways as they become available. 
  •  Ensures quality and safe delivery of speech-language services to clients and training families/caregivers. 
  • Assesses and evaluates client’s status by reviewing and implementing the plan of care. 
  • Regularly re-evaluating client needs. Revising the plan of care as necessary.
  • Initiates and applies appropriate preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and techniques and maintains communication regarding client care with the physician and supervisory personnel. 
  • Participates in coordination of speech-language services; appropriately reporting the need for disciplines (PT, SN, MSW, OT, Dietitian) to the case manager. 

Qualifications:

  • Possesses a degree which includes an internship from an approved master program in Speech-Language Pathology, or as required by applicable law and/or regulation. 
  • Has a minimum of one-year clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology. 
  • Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). 
  • Is licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology within the State of Illinois.
