Scientist / Senior Scientist - Proximity Proteomics

POSITION SUMMARY:

This highly motivated Scientist or Senior Scientist will develop and apply state-of-the-art proteomics technology around protein-protein interactions to address compelling questions in biology, chemistry and translational medicine. You will join a team responsible for drug discovery and biomarker discovery/validation in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Spearhead proteomic investigations of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) to identify native binding partners, characterize induced PPIs, and sites of interactions.
• Work at the interface of molecular biology, biochemistry, and biophysics to study protein interactions in cell and in vitro. 
• Conduct orthogonal experiments for discovering and confirming protein interactions, leveraging multiple technologies and lab automation as needed.
• Mentor research associates and collaborate closely with analytical biochemistry, molecular biology, and computational research staff to design, plan, and perform experiments, collect data, and conduct data analysis.

 REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a Ph.D. degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or related area; relevant Postdoctoral experience preferred. 
• Scientist: 0-3 years industry experience; Senior Scientist: 4+ years industry experience.
• Experience with mammalian transfection and enrichment of tagged or labeled proteins (immunoprecipitation, biotinylation, click chemistry, etc).
• Strong familiarity with molecular glues or bifunctional degraders.
• Experience working with nanoLC-MS/MS instrumentation and data is preferred.
• Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of biologists, chemists, and computational scientists to deeply characterize and understand the proteomes of cells, biofluids, and tissues.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and present data in a clear fashion.
• Solid scientific training/productivity as identified through high-impact publications demonstrating creative thinking as well as innovative technical approaches.
