Manager, People Service Center

Location: Onsite Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

The Manager of the People Service Center (PSC) is responsible for leading a team that delivers exemplary first-level HR support, optimizing HR operations to enhance the overall employee experience. This role emphasizes effective service delivery management and robust HR practices to support organizational goals.

The Manager, PSC is positive, collaborative, and service-oriented, embodying a solution-focused mindset with meticulous attention to detail. They are a self-starter, capable of executing strategic HR initiatives under minimal supervision, leading a team of HR Coordinators with a shared passion for HR excellence and technology. The role requires adaptability and a willingness to embrace new methods and think innovatively in the face of unfamiliar situations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the People Service Center (PSC), ensuring efficient Tier 1 HR support to all Varsity Brands employees.
  • Support optimized use of Workday; troubleshoot system issues in partnership with HRIS.
  • Address and resolve HR issues promptly, leveraging the HR service infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with HR departments to ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support annual HR initiatives led by the HR COEs, such as performance review cycles and benefits enrollment.
  • Develop and implement effective onboarding processes to ensure seamless integration of new hires.
  • Engage and align key stakeholders including HR Business Partners, reviewing existing policies and processes, and updating them to reflect competitive practices and improve the employee experience.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of employee training and tools related to system use (in partnership with HRIS) and evolve resources in accordance with system updates.
  • Create, maintain, and ensure accurate up-to-date electronic employee records.
  • Run reports as needed (including regular reporting of HR metrics and record audits); conduct scheduled data verification and other audits.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in HR, Business, Law, or related field preferred
  • Professional HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.

Required Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in a HR leadership role leading other professionals with a focus on service delivery.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR support frameworks from the ground up; experience with business process modeling/mapping and documentation management.
  • Experience consulting enterprise business partners; experience with maintaining an effective level of business literacy.
  • Confident and proactive, with a focus on superb employee care and empathy
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills, with a proven history of developing talent and enhancing team performance across various regions and skill levels.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience with Workday Help or similar case management system
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: MS OneNote, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Teams,
