Overview
The Portfolio Sr. Manager role is an individual contributor position on the Portfolio and Agile Excellence team within SGWS’s Digital organization. The primary mission of the role is to support an agile ways of working transition from a project-based model to a value driven product-based model. As an agent of change, the Portfolio Sr. Manager will help establish new sustainable approaches focusing on product lifecycle management from financial investment to value / Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) measurement and ultimately to the benefits achieved. Though within the Digital organization, the Portfolio Sr. Manager will help establish approaches and practices enabling all technology delivery teams to be more agile and value-focused.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supports a funding transition from a project-based model to a team / capacity-based model
- Supports and manages a monthly repeatable view that provides visibility to the Total Cost of Ownership per product portfolio including separate views of:
- Support team(s) forecasts and actuals costs
- Hardware, software, and other non-labor forecasts and actuals costs
- Establishes methodologies to maintain accurate team rosters, open roles, and team composition views enabling portfolio leaders with the data needed to make team investment decisions
- Conducts analysis and provides recommendations to Portfolio leaders to enabling efficient and effective team management
- Provide an understanding of portfolio spend / run-rate against targeted spend and any measures that need to be taken
- Enable monthly OKR measurement, assessment, and associated actions
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Establish an approach for converting key result measurement gains into tangible financial benefits
- Ensure portfolio leaders are prepared to represent their team’s progress and accomplishment at the Monthly Digital and ETP Alignment meeting
- Connects product team investment with priorities and OKRs to establish a shared understanding of how team investments lead to value realization
- Supports prioritization laddering and the creation + refinement of Objectives and Key Results at multiple levels (Digital / Technology --> Portfolio --> Product team) and time horizons (annual, bi-annual, and quarterly)
- Provides Quarterly OKR coaching as part of creation and refinement cycles
- Partners with key functions (analytics, finance, etc) to ensure key results (KRs) are measurable and that KR owners have access to the necessary data
- Supports a methodology that converts OKR measurement results into tangible financial (revenue, operating income, savings) benefits
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Outcome oriented mindset
- Prior digital product model management experience
- Strong data-driven decision-making capabilities, particularly in understanding online shopping behaviors.
- Effective communication skills, especially in translating complex design ideas to non-design stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on cross-functional partnerships.
- Empathetic approach to user needs and challenges.
