How You'll Make an Impact
The Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) Analyst plays a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the automated systems that drive warehouse operations at Carter’s Braselton Distribution Center. This role focuses on Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), and integration with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). The ideal candidate is a technically skilled problem solver with strong knowledge or the ability to learn industrial control systems, PLCs, and SCADA platforms used in modern warehouse environments. 

The position is a full-time, onsite position based at our Braselton Distribution Center and supports across all four-operating shift with occasional need for night/weekend/holiday hours. 

Troubleshooting & System Support ( 30%) 

Interface with industrial automation platforms and support programmable control (PLCs) systems  

Assist in troubleshooting alarms and faults involving SCADA systems, HMI interfaces, or automated equipment.  

Work with maintenance and controls teams to resolve control system-related issues. 

Provide hands-on support for issues involving conveyors, sorters, ASRS/OSR, and their related software systems.  

Investigate and resolve WCS and MHE-related incidents, including communication breakdowns between WMS, WCS, and equipment PLCs.  

Conduct health checks and validations during system releases or upgrades.  

Document procedures, workflows, and system changes for future reference and compliance.  

Provide training and support for operations and maintenance teams on system usage and troubleshooting steps. 

System Analysis & Optimization (20%) 

Analyze system performance and configurations to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.  

Optimize WCS rules, logic, and system settings to improve throughput and reliability across automated systems.  

Data Analysis and Reporting (20%) 

Use SQL and reporting tools to extract system data, identify trends, and present insights to stakeholders.  

Maintain performance logs and ticket tracking systems such as ServiceNow. Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial automation, or the ability and willingness to learn controls systems used in warehouse environments. 

Vendor and System Coordination (15%) 

Escalate technical issues to external vendors and coordinate resolution efforts.  

Apply software patches and configuration updates in accordance with internal standards.  

Cross Functional Collaboration (15%) 

Collaborate closely with WMS Analysts, Maintenance, Operations, IT, and 3rd-party vendors.  

Respond to emergency issues quickly to restore services and minimize downtime.

Must have

Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business analytics, Engineering, Information System; or a combination of education and equivalent hands-on experience. 

2+ years of relevant experience in warehouse automation, controls, or IT support roles. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 

Experience supporting WCS, WMS, and MHE systems within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.  

Minimum 1+ year of SQL experience required; scripting or reporting tool experience is a plus.  

Understanding of networking fundamentals and operating systems (Windows/Linux).    

Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial automation, or the ability and willingness to learn controls systems used in warehouse environments.  

Comfortable working around and supporting motorized equipment and automation technologies. 

Preferred skills and experience: 

Working knowledge of warehouse management systems such as Oracle or SAP. 

Understanding of TCP/IP networking, Linux/Windows server environments, and HMI/SCADA platforms. 

Familiarity with industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) preferred, or a strong interest and ability to learn. Demonstrate excellence in programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of controls components and systems.
