In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor - NIGHTS for the Owensboro, KY facility.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, documentation and validation of Quality and Environmental Management Systems and related programs.
- Supervises, coaches and develops (PEP) the activities of the Quality System Specialist and QA Technicians. Identify need and execute cross-training and training programs encompass all aspects of the manufacturing inspection and test functions to expand and improve coverage and personnel qualifications.
- Responsible for maintaining part inventories and operational supplies, evaluating suppliers, and assuring cost effective purchases within the departmental budget.
- Assist with evaluation and/or testing of new, alternative or existing vendors of manufacturing ingredients and materials. Assures adherence to QMS procedures for evaluating and validating suppliers.
- Participate in meetings of new products, projects, or equipment and provide input to new concepts. Incorporate product requirements and processing procedures into appropriate work instructions. Control procedure revisions and distribution to the appropriate departments.
- Specifically, assure adherence to procedures for validating test equipment. Evaluate and verify test methodology and instrument accuracy in assessing quality of finished product. Discuss variances with appropriate personnel, and monitor major quality problems and trends.
- Specifically, assures adherence to quality procedures for control on nonconforming product. Provide recommendations on disposition of substandard product (rework, destroy, ship, etc.). Knows the business impact of conforming and non-conforming product for the assigned process.
- Remains current with advances in equipment, processing, and methodology through publications, internet searches, or through discussions with vendors.
- Develops analytical capabilities to interpret, develop and document detailed procedures and methods. Maintains current (cross trained) on specified procedures in the laboratory or at production stations. Assure technicians follows all programs and procedures for protection of self and plant personnel.
- Interprets, develops data analysis and test results to assess compliance with company and industry standards and provides applicable summaries or reports.
- Assists in the implementation of Root Cause Corrective Action processes within the appropriate areas of the facility.
- Responsible for maintaining and improving the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and (Good Manufacturing Practices) GMP programs.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree, or Associates degree with equivalent years experience in a related technical field.
Experience: Project, program or process accountability, time management by objectives, document control, process monitoring, procedural implementation, leadership and vendor relations.
Skill/Knowledge: Must work well independently and with members of other departments. Familiarity with procurement and company/vendor relationships, ISO 9001, basic statistics, graphing and charting.
Other: Must be able to work 6:00pm - 6:00am on a Pitman (2-3-2) schedule
