The Senior Cloud Engineer will support Boeing’s Software Engineering-Data Analytics Force (DAF) in implementing a self-service, data visualization client that will provide leaders with key performance indicators and data insights necessary to make informed business decisions. As a member of the DAF team, you will be involved in the entire software development life cycle, from idea creation and development to maintenance and support of the deployed system. This highly visible, multi-year program impacts all areas of the organization.

Position Responsibilities:
- Implements/integrates the Cloud Kubernetes distributions into Boeing’s ecosystem.
- Understands architecting and engineering large enterprise solutions to achieve cost efficiencies, scaling, and availability for a large enterprise environment.
- Drives problem resolution for business impacting failures and drive the resolution to meet platform service level objectives.
- Operates as part of a fast-pace high energy team to meet schedule milestones.
- Works across the organization bridging the business needs to technical solutions based on simple, secure, and pragmatic architectures aligned to industry patterns and best practices.
- Designs, develops, and implements cloud solutions with scalability, reliability, maintainability as the core.
- Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
- Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.
- Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.
- Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.
- Plans, executes, and documents software research and development projects.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations.
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
- Works under minimal direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years of experience with AWS Cloud Technologies
- 5+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- 5+ years of continuous integration and continuous delivery experience
- Experience implementing CICD along with having an understanding of DevOps
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing software for complex systems such as, Distributed Systems, Multi-Threaded and Multi-Process Applications, and Client-server Architectures
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with AWS services such as Amazon EMR, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue, and Athena
- Experience in data warehousing methodologies and best practices, particularly within the AWS ecosystem
- Experience in handling and analyzing large data sets, along with experience in using big data processing tools like Hadoop or Spark on AWS
- Experience with AWS analytics services including AWS Data Pipeline
- Experience in data modeling and experience in designing and implementing ETL processes using AWS tools
- Experience in data security, encryption, and compliance standards within the AWS environment, especially regarding handling sensitive or personal data
- Experience with cloud architecture patterns and best practices for scaling big data applications on AWS
