Sr. Specialist, Global Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE)

Job Description

The Senior Specialist will drive procurement category strategy development and execution for Site Services, in cooperation with stakeholders and regional procurement teams. Category scope includes (integrated) facility management, maintenance repair and operations (MRO), energy supply, industrial gases, and office supplies and furniture, for the Animal health manufacturing locations.

The position will be part of the Global Center of Excellence (CoE) procurement team for Site Services, in Animal Health Global Supplier Management. Our international team partners with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines and Animal Health products. Main responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Senior Specialist will include:

• Drive procurement strategy development and execution, and/or direct others in the organization during implementation and execution
• Establish and maintain key stakeholder relationships within our manufacturing divisions. Develop broad understanding of stakeholder needs and priorities
• Collaborate with relevant parties including regional procurement teams, stakeholders, legal, and other global center of excellence (CoE) teams
• Drive supplier value management, contract management, relationship management,  risk management, and performance management for key suppliers
• Drive identification of value creation opportunities to deliver on continuous improvement and process simplification
• Conduct detailed supplier and supply market analysis, spend analysis, and cost modelling
• Design and execute RFP events, including evaluating bids, negotiating, contracting, obtaining approvals, and contract implementations
• Periodic domestic business travel to the Animal Health manufacturing sites in North America will be required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration

• Master's degree preferred

Required Experience and Skills:

• At least 5 years experience in strategic sourcing and category management, as well as hands on experience in SAP, Ariba, and Aera; preferably in a global role, in pharma or related industries

• Strong understanding of contract language and legal positions
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, influencing, analytical and negotiation skills
• Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset. Highly collaborative
• Excellent project management and presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize. Result driven. Self-propelling. Ability to work independently with all levels of the organization
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability to deal with ambiguous and complex environments
• Experienced in working in a matrix organization, and leading cross-functional teams
• Excellent proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI or equivalent
• Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
