About the role

Shift: 4:00 AM-2:00 PM

Hourly Rate: $34.60 an hour

You will be responsible for all facility and utility needs in the plant. The Facility/Utility Technician will help with repairing infrastructure and work with a variety of systems including: air compressors, HVAC, plumbing, ammonia/refrigeration, boiler systems, waste treatment and general electrical systems. The work schedule for this position is assigned to a Crew schedule. You will report to the Plant Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • You will use CPS-focused Improvement (FI) Tools by leading Root Cause Analysis (UPS), and Kaizens (e.g. Rapid Changeover (RCO) events).
  • You will implement, sustain and improve 5S activities.
  • You will support Conagra Performance System (CPS) through CPS pillar work. Use CPS as way of work. Facilitate and ensure others use CPS as way of work.
  • You will perform component and machine rebuilds.
  • You will complete work on special projects through the plant.
  • You will check parts in and out of the stockroom using SAP to ensure stockroom inventory accountability.
  • You will immediately react to area safety problems
  • You will detail daily activities in log book.
  • You will provide back up system coverage for the boiler and ammonia systems.
  • You will fabricate and machine spare parts.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the following systems: compressed air, dust collection, HVAC, plumbing, ammonia/refrigeration, boiler systems, waste treatment and general electric.
  • Complete exterior maintenance.
  • Partner with external suppliers and vendors to manage repairs and installations.
  • Provide back-up for other Facility/Utility Technician positions.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • You will need knowledge of pneumatics, motors/drives/gearboxes/power transmission systems.
  • Understand technical vendor manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Knowledge of instrumentation (temperature, pressure, etc.)
  • You will read Process Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID's)
  • You will work in a team environment.
  • Active member of the plant PSM team.
  • Required to work over plant shutdowns/holidays.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in mechanical technology or similar field.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in boiler, ammonia, compressed air, HVAC and dust collections systems.

Computer Skills:

  • PC based computer literacy
  • SAP experience preferred

Work Environment Requirements:

  • You will work in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions.
  • Our needs may require support outside of normal work hours.
  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing facilities, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.
  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
