The Opportunity:
Skilled US is seeking a dynamic and experienced Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics Instructor to lead technical training for both high school CTE students and adult learners. This full-time, in-person role combines hands-on instruction in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and automation with essential workplace safety training, including OSHA 10 and 30 certifications. The instructor will teach through the Conexus Catapult curriculum and additional industry-aligned models, preparing students for high-wage, high-demand roles in modern manufacturing. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, a passion for education, and the ability to collaborate with workforce partners, support program innovation, and shape student career pathways.
The Details
Instruction & Training Delivery
- Deliver engaging, practical instruction in advanced manufacturing, robotics, industrial automation, and safety protocols.
- Facilitate hands-on training in robotics systems, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and programming for automated environments.
- Teach Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Just-in-Time, Kaizen (Continuous Improvement), and Quality Control.
- Provide instruction aligned with OSHA 10 and OSHA 30, preparing students for workplace safety certification.
- Use real-world examples, simulations, and project-based learning to reinforce technical concepts and problem-solving.
- Deliver Catapult program content and support certification attainment in alignment with industry demands.
Curriculum & Equipment Management
- Develop, revise, and align lesson plans with employer feedback, workforce trends, and certification standards.
- Maintain robotics kits, automation systems, safety equipment, and training tools in line with industry expectations.
- Integrate technology, online platforms, and simulation software into instructional delivery.
- Ensure instructional materials and lab environments meet compliance and safety standards.
Student Support & Advising
- Provide individualized coaching and technical support for diverse learners, including youth and adults.
- Track student performance using assessments, lab checklists, and skill proficiency evaluations.
- Support student engagement and persistence by fostering a supportive, inclusive, and motivational environment.
- Help students navigate career pathways by offering academic advising, credential support, and transition planning.
Program Development & Project Management
- Contribute to program innovation, continuous improvement, and strategy development for the Advanced Manufacturing pathway.
- Participate in the Advanced Manufacturing Project Management initiative, ensuring training stays aligned with industry trends.
- Support expanding the curriculum to include emerging technologies, tools, and employer-aligned skills.
- Lead certification services for students, internal teams, and external training partners when requested.
Industry & Community Engagement
- Collaborate with local employers, advisory boards, and community partners to inform curriculum and training design.
- Promote the program at workforce events, job fairs, PLA assemblies, and employer meetings as a Skilled US ambassador.
- Build pipelines to employment by cultivating relationships that support internships, apprenticeships, and job placement.
- Engage employers in guest lectures, site tours, and the donation of materials or equipment.
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, progress, OSHA certifications, and program outcomes.
- Collaborate with instructional and operations teams on scheduling, data entry, and program reporting.
- Contribute to grant compliance, reporting, and strategic planning efforts as needed.
