About the role

  • 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM 
  • Rotating day off each week 
  • Initial on-site training for approximately 6 months, then remote work available. 

Job Summary:

Responsible for assessing, formulating plan of care, implementing and evaluating nursing care for assigned patient population. Is a leader and collaborates with the healthcare team to promote a world class environment.

Professional Standards

  1. Performs patient assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality care and safe outcomes and documents findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  2. Initiate perioperative teaching, reinforcing arrival time and surgery time and the correct entrance to use.
  3. Review EMR every morning for correct permits and that any abnormal diagnostics have been reported to the appropriate physician.
  4. Call anesthesia for a verbal consult with concerns obtained from the health history.
  5. Obtain diagnostics ordered by the surgeon and or anesthesia provider and report abnormal findings.
  6. Follow up in EMR on the need for appropriate reports from other facilities and complete additional orders from anesthesia.
  7. Review pain scale
  8. Analyzes collected data to formulate a plan of care that contributes to high quality and safe outcomes.
  9. Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
  10. Contributes to a high performance work environment by seeking educational resources that enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills.

Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:

  1. Other duties as assigned

 

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. 
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse license from the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Basic life support.
  • Experience: 2 years perioperative experience
  • Successfully complete Periop 101 course.
