Senior Manager , Nuclear Engineering Analysis

The Nuclear Engineering Analysis Senior Manager, a manager of managers,  leads the operations, assignments , activities, and resources of the engineering group.  They are responsible for the technical adequacy of their scope, ensuring the appropriate quality, as well as delivering the scope within budget and schedule in collaboration with the assigned Project Manager. The Senior Manager reports to the Department Director. 

Responsibilities:

  Manage the execution of the design, analysis, and/or type of engineering work products associated with the assigned scope using appropriate standards, technical best practices, corporate and project execution practices, Quality Assurance and safety procedures, and other requirements.

  Work with, senior managers, managers , technical staff, Project Manager(s), and PMO to develop plans and activities to support the project delivery goals and cost constraints.

  Manage engineering resources allocation across multiple teams that report to  their group and ensure qualified engineers are performing work.

  Develop and manage a highly effective group of managers and technical staff through training, qualification, coaching, and mentorship, and ensure that clear expectations are communicated and met.

  Provide technical direction to ensure the engineering team, partners, and suppliers successful deliver high-quality work products that are on schedule and within budget as defined by the Natrium leadership and Project Management teams.

  Use high level of judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems.

  Identify staffing  needs and engage HR support to assist in the recruitment and selection of additional staff and develop and refine the group organizational structure to enhance performance.

  Provide technical oversight of contractor, supplier, and partner work where applicable.

  Keep managers, technical staff, and Natrium leadership informed of major emerging technical issues.

  Provide input to technical risk harvesting exercises and ensure that these risks are properly defined and managed.

  Provide reviews and approvals attesting to technical adequacy of work products.  

  Ensure design conducted in accordance with project requirements, configuration management and change control plans and practices.

  Ensure interface with regulators, stakeholders, and customers on scope design issues is carried out in a technically sound, accurate, and complete basis.
