Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.


I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Administrative Assistant will manage business office functions and provide support to the unit in day to day functions. The effective performance will result in a multifunctional and organized process. Handling confidential information, problem solving abilities and using strong communion skills to ensure a smooth process. Overall supporting staff with various task to ensure office efficiency.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Communication: Effectively communicate and collaborate with employees, other departments and outside contacts. Professionally represent the company when dealing with employees and outside State and local agencies.
Monthly Reports: Prepare, review and assist with various departmental reports including monthly and credit card reports in a timely manner. Assist Engineers with monthly reports.
Invoicing: Ensure all invoices are accurate and processed within the required due date.
Office Assistance: Handling correspondence (phones, emails, mail, fax, etc.) for the unit. Maintain filing and database systems. Order office supplies and lunches and assist with travel arrangements as needed. Assist staff in scheduling conference rooms, meetings, and deliveries.
Administrative and Timekeeping Support: Provide general administrative support to the department, including assisting and maintaining departmental manuals and Data entry of daily timesheets.
Policy & Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, and applicable regulatory requirements.
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA
1. Previous Related Experience Required
A minimum of two (2) years of clerical experience required, dependent upon education.
2. Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
• General PC skills such as MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
• General mathematic and writing skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work as a team player
• Good data entry skills
• Self-motivated, curious and eager to learn.
• Knowledge of AS400, ERP Websmart, preferred.
• Type 50 WPM required
3. Education
High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years clerical experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
4. Other Certification/Training Required
• Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
• Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for
current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.
• Must participate in the following subject training and pass required certifications.
